Rev. Thomas F. Clark III
Rev. Thomas F. Clark III, 57, of Somersworth, New Hampshire graduated from the Church Militant to the Church Triumphant on Monday, October 13, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Thomas and Doris (MacPhail) Clark. He attended Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton and was the captain of their basketball team.
After high school and college, Tom served in the United States Air Force. Tom also worked for Cleary Cleaners and advanced to be the President of the company. He left Cleary’s to pursue his pastoral calling. In 1989, Pastor Clark was installed as the Senior Pastor at Tri-City Covenant Church in Somersworth, New Hampshire.
As well as his pastoral duties, Pastor Clark has been a teacher at Tri-City Christian Academy, a previous Chairman of the Board at Options for Women, a community liaison for the Salvation Army, chaplain for the Somersworth American Legion Post #69, chaplain for the Somersworth Police Department, and chaplain for the American Ambulance Company, as well as a community volunteer in other areas.
Pastor Clark was an avid golfer and found many opportunities to give pastoral help to his friends at The Oaks and during his Tuesday and Thursday evening golf leagues.
Pastor Clark recently celebrated his 25th Anniversary as Shepherd of Tri-City Covenant Church. He was also given the prestigious honor of being named the 2014 Greater Somersworth Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in May.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Yolande (Ringland) Clark. He is the father of Benjamin Clark, Andrew Clark, Josiah Clark, Ethan (Samantha) Clark, Seth Clark, Jeremiah (Justina) Clark, Victoria Clark, and Thomas Clark IV and grandfather to Sophia, Chloe, and Emmalyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Cathy, David, and John as well as his beloved Aunt Kay Lunt, Uncle John Poirier, and many extended relatives.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Sonneborn and the Seacoast Cancer Center and Dr. Marszalek for their loving care during Pastor Clark’s recent illness.
