Tommy ‘Fred’ Thompson

Tommy F. Thompson Jr. has been member of Tri-City of Covenant Church since 1985 and his family has been involved with the school since its inception. Tommy has been married to his wife Debbie for 33 years and they have 7 children and 4 grandchildren.

Tommy was a submariner in the U.S. Navy for 8 years (1979-1987) serving in the nuclear engineering department. He shifted from active duty to reserve duty and served in 6 different Naval Reserve units in various capacities. In 1995  he transferred into the Air National Guard and served 5 years, completing his military service in 2000.

Tommy served on the Planning Board in the Town of Berwick for 7 years. He was also a Board member of Options for Women for approximately 5 years.

Tommy’s responsibilities at Tri-City Covenant Church have included: Adult Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Director, Deacon and Elder and he is presently serving as an Elder.

He attended Robeson Technical College and received his Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management from New Hampshire College in 1993.

He has worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard since 1987 and has held the following positions: Shift Test Engineer, Radiological Emergency Planner, Radiological Engineer, Nuclear Engineering Instructor, and Receipt Inspection Engineer.

He enjoys a good game of scrabble and the pleasure of finding a new fishing hole. He dabbles in genealogical research.
